Purchasing Your First 'Yeezy'

Source: grvgtaylor

Hi.. Yeah its me. You've seen me before, I think. Well not in a long time. But now, now I'm back and I'm here for good don't worry about that. I understand that my hiatus from my blog may have been prolonged just a little bit too much and with me recently quitting my job at a cafe I figured this would be perfect to really focus and get back into the page.

Now, enough of that. Here is my first returning post!

In the world of streetwear and fashion in general the name Kanye West isn't exactly un-heard of. With his music being easily accessible but much can be said for his infamous collaboration sneakers with Adidas. They aren't exactly the easiest to obtain without having to pay resell especially if your a first time buyer with little or no experience with what to look for and this is where I hope this post will give a little or maybe a lot of help!

I myself have been scammed several times before finally getting my first real pair which happened to be the 'Beluga V2' so don't think i've never been in the position.

Now this post is mainly revolved around purchasing pairs on the resell market, if you can pick up retail pairs from Adidas or supplied stores then great there is a segment at the bottom of the post just for that!

I'd also like to point out that this is regarding the Adidas Yeezy partnership not the mainline Yeezy Season as most of their products are readily available from retailers.

Know Your Pricing

One of the biggest things to know about buying a pair of Yeezys is to know the current market value and resell price. For example if someone is selling a pair of brand new Moonrock 350s for £250 its most probably not going to be real.. where as if they were selling for £1000 its a bit more understandable. Don't let a low price draw you in and entice you into a sale as this is one of the easy ways sellers of fake products target first time buyers. However make sure you do your research and don't pay over the odds. Make sure to look at places such as Depop, eBay, Instagram and Facebook groups such as SneakerMyth and Yeezy Talk WorldWide for information and to give you an idea.

Get Involved With The Communities

If you have been looking around for pairs and are unsure on anything make sure to get involved with the online sneaker and fashion communities for answers. Facebook groups are great for posting: legit checks, want to buys, want to sells, price checks etc. 9 times out of 10 whenever I have posted a query or question I have gotten the answer I was looking for. Purchasing from reputable places and people within the communities are also vital as it stops you from being scammed or ripped off. People within groups ask for legit checks on other people to see reviews and references so don't be afraid to do that either.

Know Your Product

As well as asking others to legit check for you it really does help if you have prior knowledge to what a fake and an authentic look like. Make sure to watch youtube videos, look at pictures and really gain information on what to look out for on your specific model your wanting to buy. Main things to look out for usually involve: tags, the box, the boost, the insole, the stripe (V2 model), stitching, lace tips and just the overall shape of the shoe. Just make sure you get the opinion of several people first rather than spends hundreds of pounds solely based on your own knowledge and view as there are always things you may miss out or not see that make the shoe a fake.

Also make sure to check the condition and see if it adds up to the asking price!

Purchasing Direct From Adidas Or Participating Retailers

Now just like everyone else before we go paying resell we generally attempt at paying the retail price and getting lucky. If you are unsure of how to do this websites such as Sole Supplier and pages like Yeezy Mafia tend to leak out release dates and store lists a few weeks in advance. This will let you know how limited they are and usually how many pairs are being released (e.g. 34,000 for Europe) and this will reflect in resell price. Stores stopped doing camp outs a while back due to the colossal demand for the shoes and now the only real way is to enter as many online raffles as possible. Finally go on Adidas.com at 8:30am the day of release and patiently wait to see if you get through to the check out page!

Extra: Know The Terminology

Now this doesn't just apply to Yeezy's what so ever but it always helps to be up to date with the terminology used by people buying, selling and trading pairs so you know exactly what is meant. To a lot of you, you already know all of this as I said this post is aimed at people with little or no experience in purchasing.

OG - Original
DS - Dead Stock
VNDS - Very Near Dead Stock
BIN - Buy It Now
ONO - Or Nearest Offer
LTD - Limited Edition
WTB - Want To Buy
WTS - Want To Sell
WTT - Want to Trade

OT - Oxford Tan

I know this was short and I haven't covered everything by any means! But theres loads more information out there on the internet to answer anything you ned to know!

Tell me what you think about this post.

Thanks guys!

Greg

Outfit Of The Day - Monochrome Mashup

Photography: Charlotte Traverse

Black Gym Bomber Jacket - Represent Clothing / £80 (Sold Out)
Checked Flannel - Topman / £25
Grey Scooped Hem T-shirt - Topman / £10
Black Shorts w/ meggings - Asos / £30
Black Corduroy Hat - Supreme / £44
Qasa High Prime knit Sneakers - Y3 / £260

-----------------------------------

Hello! welcome back, I'm sorry its been a little dormant around here but I promise it won't be like that for long with more OOTDs to come! This outfit I love because of its usage of simplistic layering and colour running of blacks, whites and greys. I feel the outfits urban appeal works well with its surroundings myself and some friends found in the heart of Manchester. Ive always loved the city and everything about it and I try and make my outfits stand out in the fast paced environments whilst still fitting in at the same time.

For the outfit instead of just going for white and black, why not throw some grey in? I recently picked up some new Y3 sneakers and they have a main body of Adidas's insanely comfortable prime knit material. The knit has flashes of grey and white in whilst the rest of the shoes has blacks and whites, so to balance out some more grey in the outfit I used my top man scooped hem t-shirt and top man flannel. Ive just started to buy more scooped hem
pieces now (I know Im late) and they layer superbly over one another. Giving a different look to your standard cut. Topped off with the crazy Gym Bomber by Represent, this jacket brings another meaning to quality, and the soft, premium feeling materials really do it for me on this one. On the bottom half Ive kept it simple and gone for some plain black shorts with meggings from Asos just to give a different aesthetic than some conventional black skinnies.  A band I've know for a long time but never been able to buy something I really liked is supreme. Now I have one of their box logo hats I can really see what the major hype is about with this brand, If you own some supreme pieces you know what I mean..

Thank you for taking your time to read this article! And stay tuned for more. If you aren't already make sure to follow me on my social media accounts (names over on the right of the screen). Leave a comment if you enjoyed this post and ill see you next time!
Byeeee.

Black Airtex Shorts - Maniére De Voir / £33
Asymmetric Longline Jacket - H&M / £15
Metal Plaque Snake Embossed Cap - Maniére De Voir / £20
Masa Racer Low Triple Black Sneakers - Adidas Y3 / £240

-----------------------------------

Hi guys, welcome to the latest and greatest. This blog post is of a dark and almost assassin like outfit shot in a overgrown and rustic area of a mill I live near. Before you say it I will be doing more urban shoots very soon and I'm excited to get that into motion It just takes me time to get to my nearest city of Manchester and gather my photographer, but I will do it I promise!. So, I always rely on black as a basis for outfits however on this one I really wanted the full stealth look. The very oversized and assassin looking jacket from H&M is a great piece at a very affordable price and adds some different shapes and dynamics to the outfit with its curvy lines and edges. Coupled up with the amazingly comfortable Airtel shorts from MDV and the timeless leggings via Asos the outfit is all very sleek. Finally with the infamous Y3s I own it completely topped off the ninja style look very well. I really feel my blog is beginning to blossom now and any help you can give is appreciated more than I can put into words, if you like what I'm doing drop me a shout out on Instagram! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more to come! Bye.

Outfit Of The Day - Cookies & Cream

Photography: Aaron Haigh

Stone Bomber Jacket - Asos / £38
Super Longline T-shirt - Asos / £14
Ribbed Biker Denim - Maniére De Voir / £43
Metal Plaque Snake Embossed Cap - Maniére De Voir / £20
Lanyard - Represent Clothing / £25
Qasa Racer Low Triple Black Sneakers - Adidas Y3 / £240

-----------------------------------

I know I only posted yesterday as well, but I was in central Manchester today and had my camera on me so me and my friend decided to do a little exploring and find a quiet spot to do some outfit shots. The outfit was a mix of black, cream and off white. I personally feel the beiges, creams and off whites are actually quite under rated colours so I decided to wear them today. The bomber jacket's colour is really called 'Stone' which I was skeptical towards the look when I first received the jacket however it has grown on me and I really enjoy its diverse look now. I also broke out my Y3 Qasa Racer Low sneakers after a few months in their box and its reminded me of their amazing quality and unique 'ninja style' look, especially in their triple black colour way which I haven't seen anyone else in to date. Any way tell me what you think about it, have a good last of your weekend :)

Black Longline T-shirt - Asos / £13

Lanyard - Represent Clothing / £25
Urban Peak Superstar Supercolor Sneakers - Adidas / £67

-----------------------------------

Hi guys, hows your weekend going? This outfit was a bit of a rustic, layering, distressed combo I threw together. I thought It worked well the mixes of black, grey and green on the similarly distressed background of the stone wall. It was getting dark and I had no battery so these shots were really quickly done but I think they turned out really well even with the lower lighting. I just got these Adidas Superstars in this amazing grey/khaki colour way when I was on holiday in Portugal. I really wanted the sand colour way but found these and decided I wanted them straight away haha, even after they released a while ago and have sold out everywhere. Thanks for looking, thoughts?

Outfit Of The Day - Double Olive

Photography: Charlotte Traverse

Khaki Flight Jacket - Maniére De Voir / £56
Super Long Line T-shirt - Asos / £14
Khaki Biker Denim - Maniére De Voir / £43
Metal Plaque Snake Embossed Cap - Maniére De Voir / £20
Superstar Jeremy Scott Edition Sneakers - Adidas / £145
-----------------------------------

Me and my friend Charlotte ventured into this abandoned mill near where we live in Delph to get these shots of my outfit. The visuals of olive and white work together quite well in my opinion. It was quite a warm day today but the flight jacket by Maniére De Voir is a good item to keep you cool but add some real depth to your outfit, paired with the khaki denim it really pops on the white. What do you think? - Have a good remainder of your weekend.
